​​Euro Style and Black Edition Adds More Awesomeness to the 2025 Volkswagen Golf R​

The 2025 Volkswagen Golf R is the definitive sport compact car available today. It is the combination of a high-performance turbocharged engine with traction-inducing all-wheel drive. For 2025, Volkswagen added a package that brings more of what the enthusiasts want from their Golf R – more intensity from vehicle performance with less weight. Available on both the Golf R and Black Edition, the Euro Style package combines features that were equipped on Golf R models sold within the European Union.  

The focus is on improved performance, thanks to the Akrapovic titanium exhaust system. The four-port system breathes freer than the standard exhaust. That exhaust note becomes more pronounced when you switch to Sport, Race, or Special modes through the Driving Mode Selection screen.  

With more exhaust performance, the Euro Style Package swaps out the standard seats with a manually adjustable, high-back, and lighter-weight set. Upholstered in ArtVelours and cloth, the seats are more breathable while delivering the right amount of bolstering and overall support.  

The weight savings continue with the deletion of the sunroof and seat ventilation. What enthusiasts know is that a sunroof is not only heavier, but it can also change the dynamics of the body. The combination of a lighter set of front seats and the removal of the sunroof is a loss of 80 pounds compared to the standard 2025 Golf R.  

Also new for 2025 is the Black Edition. With so many vehicles adopting darker finishes and trim, the 2025 Golf R Black Edition changes the temperature for the enthusiast to ice cold. The new trim level adds dark trim all around, including the R badges. The headlamp units have darker housings, while the LED lighting signature shines up front, including the Volkswagen logo. The finishing touch outside is a set of 19-inch black-finished aluminum alloy wheels.  

Inside, there is genuine carbon fiber trim found on the dashboard to add a more sporty flair and sophistication to the 2025 Golf R. You can get the Black Edition in all three colors – Lapiz Blue Metallic, Mythos Black Metallic, and Pure White.  

One significant change in the 2025 Golf R resides underneath the hood. The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine gets a power bump to 328 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. This engine is coupled to a seven-speed DSG gearbox and a performance-tuned 4MOTION all-wheel drive system.
