Performance

Powering the 2024 Tiguan is a robust 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that produces a healthy 184 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. Mated to an efficient 8-speed automatic transmission, the Tiguan delivers a dynamic driving experience while maintaining optimal fuel efficiency. The EPA estimates the front-wheel-drive model achieves 23 mpg (city) and 30 mpg (highway). The all-wheel-drive model drops fuel economy by just 1 mpg per driving cycle, making it one of the most fuel-efficient SUVs in its class.  

Equipped with Volkswagen’s advanced 4Motion® all-wheel drive system, the Tiguan ensures confident handling and traction in diverse driving conditions. The versatile Drive Mode Select feature enables drivers to customize their driving experience with modes such as Eco, Normal, Sport, and Custom. 

Exterior

Sporting a sleek and sophisticated exterior design, the 2025 Tiguan captivates with its distinctive front grille and elegant lines. Available in a palette of eye-catching colors, the Tiguan allows drivers to express their individuality with style. Customers can choose between beautiful and vibrant exterior colors that include Atlantic Blue Metallic, Deep Black Pearl, Platinum Grey Metallic, Pyrite Silver Metallic, Pure White, Opal White Pearl, and Kings Red. Every Tiguan comes standard with LED headlights and taillights for extra visibility in dark driving conditions. 

Tiguan S models come standard with 17-inch wheels, while the Wolfsburg Editions get 18-inch alloys. SE R-Line Black models feature standard 19-inch black alloy wheels. All models come with all-season tires to maintain usability throughout the year.  

Interior

Inside the Tiguan, owners will find a spacious and inviting interior, meticulously designed to prioritize comfort and convenience. With versatile seating configurations and ample cargo space, the Tiguan is well-equipped to accommodate the demands of modern life. 

When equipped with three rows of seats, the Tiguan has 12 cu-ft of cargo space behind the third row, which grows to 33 cu-ft when the third row is folded and 65.3 cu-ft when the second row is also folded. For Tiguan models that feature 4Motion® all-wheel drive, the vehicle comes with two rows that give owners 37.6 cu-ft of space behind the second row and 73.4 cu-ft when the second row is folded.

Technology

The Tiguan boasts a comprehensive suite of technological features, including a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. All models come standard with an 8.0-inch Digital Cockpit Display that allows the driver to see all pertinent information, as well as have other information displayed in front of his or her eyes. An 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system is standard on the Wolfsburg Edition and SE R-Line Black trim levels. S trims have a 6.5-inch touchscreen as standard.  

Also standard on all trim levels is a total of four USB-C ports that have 45-watt fast charging capability, meaning you can plug in a phone, tablet, or a laptop that uses USB-C and charge to full in a short period of time. The front, second row, and rear hatch area also feature standard 12V power outlets. A loud and clear 480-watt Fender premium audio system and a 12-channel amp will have the driver and passengers not wanting to get out of the Tiguan once they’ve reached their destination.

Safety and Driver Assistance

The Tiguan, like all Volkswagen cars and SUVs, comes standard with IQ.Drive, which brings an advanced array of safety and convenience features that not only make driving safer, but also easier and better. IQ.Drive includes Travel Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Active Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Traffic Alert, Front Assist, Emergency Assist, Lane Assist, Area View, Park Distance Control, Light Assist, Dynamic Road Sign Display, and more.  

Thanks to the standard safety features on the Tiguan, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has given the vehicle top marks in all crash testing it has conducted with the VW, including the Small Overlap Front and Moderate Overlap Front tests.
