Performance

The heart of the 2025 Taos is its 1.5-liter Turbocharged TSIâ four-cylinder engine, now producing 174 horsepower – up from last year’s model. This engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. You have a choice of front- or 4Motion® all-wheel drive.  

Equipped with Start/Stop technology, the Taos optimizes fuel efficiency by intelligently shutting down the engine during idle moments, seamlessly reigniting when the brake is released.  

For those with a penchant for adventure, the Taos can confidently tow up to 2,000 lbs, showcasing its versatility for urban and outdoor escapades.  

The available 4Motion® All-wheel drive system ensures enhanced traction. At the same time, the Drive Mode Select feature offers selectable driving modes such as Eco, Normal, Sport, and Custom, tailoring the driving experience to individual preferences.  

A fully independent suspension helps smooth out the bumps and keeps the 2025 Taos on an even keel as it shuttles you to work or the grocery store.  

Exterior

Measuring 175.8 inches in length, 72.5 inches in width, and 64.4 inches in height, the 2025 Taos boasts a sleek profile with a drag coefficient designed for efficiency. This is enhanced with an updated design up front, including a larger lower grille for optimized airflow into the engine bay.  

Standard LED headlights with daytime running lamps and an LED light bar across the upper fascia ensure visibility and safety, while the available panoramic sunroof adds a touch of luxury. New for 2025 is an LED taillight arrangement that is connected across the liftgate, marked with an illuminated Volkswagen badge. 

Roof rails come standard across all trims, providing additional cargo-carrying capabilities, and various wheel designs, ranging from 17-inch to 19-inch options, are available.  

The 2025 Taos offers a vibrant exterior color palette, including Bright Moss Green, Monterey Blue Pearl, and Monument Gray.

Interior

Step inside the 2025 Taos, and you’re greeted by a meticulously crafted interior space. Ambient lighting with customizable colors sets the mood, while premium materials enhance comfort.  

This also features a new dashboard design that incorporates a floating infotainment screen. Acoustic dampening treatments help to reduce interior noise.  

Taos S features two-tone black and grey cloth upholstery; SE and SE Black models are equipped with CloudTex and cloth materials—SE in two different two-tone options and SE Black in all black, naturally. SEL models are outfitted with leather seats, available in either a two-tone black and grey combination or a new striking dark blue hue. 

The Taos offers ample cargo space, with up to 27.9 cubic feet behind the rear seats and a generous maximum volume of 65.9 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down. The overall interior volume is designed to easily accommodate passengers and cargo.  

Available features include heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a variety of storage solutions to enhance convenience. Touch control for the Climatronic® HVAC system is available on the SE trim and above. 

Technology

The 2025 Taos is equipped with a suite of advanced technology features, including an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen that is standard on all models. This infotainment system includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.  

The available Volkswagen Digital Cockpit offers a customizable display, providing drivers with essential information at a glance. A premium audio system ensures an immersive listening experience, while wireless charging keeps devices powered on the go.

IQ.DRIVE is standard on all Jetta models. The system utilizes front and rear radar, a front camera and several ultrasound sensors to collect data from the surrounding area, enabling the following features:  

• Travel Assist (semi-automated driving assistance) 

• Front Assist (Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Monitoring) 

• Active Blind Spot Monitor 

• Rear Traffic Alert 

• Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Stop and Go;  

• Lane Assist (Lane Keeping System) 

• Emergency Assist (semi-automated vehicle assistance in a medical emergency).  

Safety

Safety remains a top priority for Volkswagen, and the 2025 Taos comes equipped with a comprehensive set of driver assistance features called IQ.DRIVE®. This includes Travel Assist (semi-automated driving assistance), Front Assist (Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Monitoring), Active Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Traffic Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Stop and Go, Lane Assist (Lane Keeping System), and Emergency Assist (semi-automated vehicle assistance in a medical emergency). Front and rear Park Distance Control are now also available and help provide guidance when parking or in tight spaces. 

You can also keep tabs on your 2025 Taos with the myVW app. It puts convenient tools and information at your fingertips. Features include service reminders⁠, scheduling⁠ and history⁠, maintenance schedules⁠, and roadside assistance requests. In addition, you can get remote commands and more when you activate VW Car-Net⁠, such as remote start and lock/unlock vehicle alerts and your last parked location⁠.
