The new 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan has been getting a lot of praise lately. The elevated interior matches the new exterior design. Consumer Reports recently purchased a 2025 Tiguan SE 4Motion to test for their subscribers. According to the article’s headline, it is an “honest SUV.”  

The 2025 Tiguan SE 4Motion features the new exterior design, with its updated family face integrated with the rest of a progressive profile. The refreshed full-length LED taillights are a visual change worth looking at. To handle corners through any weather, the cornering lights will illuminate the way. Compared with the last generation’s model, the 2025 Tiguan now sports shorter overhangs for better maneuverability front and back.  

The cabin has been updated with all new style. That includes a new instrument suite with floating panels. All trim levels get a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro instrument cluster with available head-up display, and a 12.9-inch center infotainment display. New for 2025 is the Atmospheres feature. Controlled by the Driving Experience Dial, this synchronizes ambient lighting with audio settings to create an environment for everyone to enjoy the drive – day and night.  

With two rows of seats, five people can ride along in style and comfort. In all, there are 103.8 cubic feet of passenger space. The 2025 Tiguan also offers plenty of convenience, such as a larger center console stowage that is placed underneath the height-adjustable center armrest. Power for the 2025 Tiguan SE 4Motion comes from an uprated 201-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Its standard 221 pound-feet of torque remains the best in its segment. This uprated evo5 engine has been substantially changed to meet the new horsepower output. It is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission with either front- or 4Motion all-wheel drive.  

Fuel economy has improved for the 2025 Tiguan. Front-wheel drive models can achieve an estimated 26 MPG in the city and 34 MPG on the highway. Models equipped with the 4Motion all-wheel drive system are estimated to get 22 MPG in the city and 30 MPG on the highway.
