​​Can The 2025 Volkswagen ID.Buzz Be Used As a Dog Taxi?​

What can you carry in a 2025 Volkswagen ID.Buzz? 

The new electric minibus has a large volume of space to carry people and their stuff. There is seating for up to seven with loads of third-row room. Access is easy with two sliding side doors and easy-to-use second-row seats to the far back.  

As far as cargo is concerned, the 2025 ID.Buzz offers versatility and various ways to carry your goods. Shopping is easy with removable and fold-down bins that fit underneath the parcel shelf in the back. You can remove the bins and parcel shelf without using any tools. The third-row seats also roll out to make more room, and the second-row seats can be removed quite easily as well. All told, there is 145.5 cubic feet of cargo space for everything you wish to carry with you.  

The team at The Drive found another use for the 2025 ID.Buzz. They used it as a dog taxi. They loaded the 2025 ID.Buzz up with six canine companions to see how easily they could load in and out from the side sliding doors and the rear liftgate, as well as comfortably accommodate these furry friends for some drives.  

They did offer a tip. Smaller dogs may need a bit of a boost into the 2025 ID.Buzz. It would be easier for them to load through the side doors than through the rear. However, larger dogs present minimal problems going in through the side doors, if it requires a bit of a jump in and out.  

The sliding glass on the side doors are small, but a large dog can put its snout out to get some fresh air. There is a rear ventilation system that helps cool the area for comfort on warmer days.  

The key to the perfect pet ride-along is the boxy interior of the ID.Buzz, giving room to roam. Dogs love that kind of space and interior shape to avoid claustrophobia and other uncomfortable situations. Rear seat heating is available, as well.  

There are some pet accessories available for the 2025 ID.Buzz. Thule offers a few dog crates to fit inside, as well as seat and floor protection products, dog leashes, and collars that make cleaning your ID.Buzz easier. Your four-legged friend can also enjoy a Kong dog toy! Some pet supply stores offer ramps and food/water accessories, as well.  

Come to think of it, The Drive did state that your ID.Buzz could be “a pretty big multi-kennel cargo system.” 

In summary, The Drive did conclude that “[i]f you’re canine-crazy enough to drive around with more than two dogs with any kind of regularity, a large van is pretty much a requirement. [D]riving [a 2025 ID.Buzz] around with dogs popping out is a great way to make friends and admirers everywhere you go.”
