The Comfortable And Secure Car Seats Inside The Volkswagen Atlas' Fashionable Interior

When it comes to safety, Volkswagen thinks of everything to ensure your family gets where you want to be. That includes making sure that your children ride securely in our vehicles using their child safety seats.

Cars.com tests every vehicle sold in this country through their Car Seat Check program to make sure that child seats work well with them. That includes fitting, latching, and securing them to every seat inside a vehicle. The Cars.com Best Cars for Car Seats Report compiles 12 months’ worth of comprehensive Car Seat Checks conducted by the website’s team of experts. Each Car Seat Check is performed by a Cars.com certified child passenger safety technician who installs three types of car seats, including infant, convertible, and high-back booster. They install them into each new vehicle and evaluate the vehicle’s Latch system, as well as how the vehicle accommodates the different car seats. Cars.com tests vehicles as they are made available by the manufacturers.

Cars.com added a Top Finishers category this year. It recognizes vehicles that performed better in their Car Seat Checks. The new criteria are set for vehicles that receive all “A” grades and just one “B” grade. The “B” grade criteria increase to two for three-row vehicles.

In recent tests conducted by Cars.com, they rated the 2025 Volkswagen Atlas and ID. Buzz as the Top Finishers in their respective classes. This continues the Volkswagen models’ track record in receiving straight “A” grades from Cars.com. Over the past three years, the Volkswagen Atlas, Atlas Cross Sport, ID.4, and Tiguan received these high marks for car seat fitment from the car shopping website.

The 2025 Atlas three-row SUV is one of seven vehicles to earn the Best Cars for Car Seats award. The 2025 ID.Buzz was one of 10 vehicles named a Top Finisher in its class. Cars.com rated these two Volkswagen models among 51 vehicles they tested this year.

According to Cars.com, the 2025 Atlas received straight “A’s” on their Car Seat Check test. They found latching and fitment easy across all three rows. In particular, they called the latches on the second row: Three sets of anchors sit in slits in the upholstery, and two clearly marked top tether anchors sit midway down the second-row seatbacks. All anchors are easy to find and use.

The 2025 ID. Buzz received one “B” grade, while receiving “A” grades on all other categories. That met the criteria to become a Top Finisher in the minivan segment. When it came to latching child seats in the third row, Cars.com said: “As with the second row, there are two sets of lower anchors in the third row that are exposed for easy access. Two top tether anchors sit midway down the seatback; they’re also easy to find and use.
