Volkswagen Shows Off Freshest Lineup In LA
At the LA Auto Show, Volkswagen showed off a fresh lineup of some of the best vehicles the company has ever made, including a refreshed GTI, Golf R, Jetta, Jetta GLI, Taos, the first-ever ID.Buzz, and the completely new 2025 Tiguan crossover. It’s a great time not only to buy or lease a brand-new VW but also to be a brand enthusiast.
Updated Lineup
In a show of innovative force, Volkswagen has updated every model in its lineup over the past couple of years, starting with the Atlas, Atlas Cross Sport, and ID.4. Now, 2024 and 2025 will see the rest of the models get freshened up or completely upgraded. Also, expect the arrival of the ID.Buzz at dealers soon. This is important because it shows the company wants to keep its cars new and sporting the latest and greatest technology, from safety features to infotainment systems.
2025 Jetta Models
The 2025 Jetta and Jetta GLI get a new face, a little nip here, and a little tuck there, keeping it young and ready for owners’ adventures and lifestyles. The interior gets a completely redesigned dashboard and rocks a floating 8-inch infotainment touchscreen display, which is now standard on all models, as well as Climatronic Touch automatic climate control. The Jetta is powered by a brilliantly efficient 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that puts out 158 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque that is mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission and is rated for 29 mpg city and 40 mpg highway by the EPA. The base S model starts from just $23,220, making it one of the most affordable vehicles sold in America.
GLI Engine and Power
The new GLI retains its ability to have either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic with the beloved and trustworthy EA888 2.0-liter turbo-4 that gives drivers 228 horses and 258 lb-ft of torque to the front wheels and blasts to 60 mph in 6-seconds or less, depending on which transmission you choose. The GLI starts from $33,940, with no price difference between the automatic and manual, which is extremely rare in this industry.
2025 Taos
Next on the LA Auto showroom floor was the 2025 Taos, which was updated earlier this year with a revised 1.5-liter turbo 4-cylinder that produces 174 horsepower, 16 more than the 2024 model, and a new 8-speed Tiptronic for 4Motion all-wheel drive optioned models. Like the Jetta, the revised Taos also features an 8-inch floating infotainment display that comes standard on all trim levels, plus a new dashboard design. Volkswagen added extra sound-deadening material to make the cabin one of the quietest in the small crossover class. LED headlights are now standard on all trim levels. The base S model arrives at Bud Brown VW starting from only $25,420.
All-New Tiguan
The Tiguan is one of the best-selling and, therefore, most important cars in the VW lineup, making the all-new 2025 model much more important. As a mix between a family and fun vehicle, the Tiguan gives buyers an extra 17 horsepower for 201 and weighs a whopping 170 fewer pounds than the outgoing generation. In a day and age where everything is increasing in size and more luxury means more weight, the Tiguan will be more powerful and agile and provide better fuel economy just by being on a diet. Base models get a brand new 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, with higher trims getting a 15-inch display. Some hallmark features will be the interior with American walnut wood trim, quilted leather seats, and the ability to customize seat heating and cooling functions. Look for the Tiguan to arrive at Bud Brown Volkswagen in early summer 2025.
GTI and Golf R
Both the GTI and Golf R receive updated bumpers and headlights with an illuminated Volkswagen logo. GTI models get Alpine Silver Metallic and Slate Blue Metallic exterior paint, and 19-inch wheels are standard on the Autobahn trim. Both cars also get new interior styling and design, with a 12.9-inch infotainment display as standard. The Golf R gets an increase of 13 horsepower for 328, with only the 7-speed DSG automatic being the only transmission offered.

The ID.Buzz
Last but not least is the retro ID.Buzz that journalists are absolutely raving about, with Car and Driver calling it “the bee’s knees.” With a 91 kWh battery pack and either rear- or 4Motion all-wheel drive, the all-electric van gives customers old-school feelings and vibes with a modern earth-conscious attitude. Rear-wheel drive ID.Buzz models feature 282 horsepower, with 4Motion models getting 335 ponies. This helps to get the modern VW Bus moving to 60 mph in about 5.5 seconds, or something you could never say about the classic VW van. The electric VW starts at $61,545 and is now available at Bud Brown Volkswagen.
Excellent Safety Features Via IQ.DRIVE
All Volkswagen models come standard with IQ.DRIVE, a revolutionary driver assistance technology that features Adaptive Cruise Control, Travel Assist, Active Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Traffic Alert, Front Assist, Emergency Assist, Lane Assist, and more.
