2025 Taos: What’s New?
Volkswagen’s compact SUV, the Taos, will receive several changes for the 2025 model year. The changes not only give the Taos a fresh new look but also add more value and capability. Bud Brown Volkswagen is happy to give you the 2025 Taos details.
The most immediate change is the all-new front end. Taking cues from both the GTI and ID.4 EV, the Taos sports a low, wide grille balanced by standard LED projector headlights. Upper models feature an LED light bar connecting the headlights for a modern appearance. The theme continues in the rear with full-width tail lights and an illuminated VW badge to create a distinctive appearance. The side gains new wheels with 17-, 18-, and 19-inch wheel designs, and the model line gains new exterior colors such as Monument Gray, Monterey Blue, and Bright Moss Green.
The SE Black trim continues from its 2024 introduction, featuring a black roof, black trim, and unique black wheels.
Inside, the Taos cabin features an all-new dashboard. Showing its German roots, in which distractions from driving should be discouraged, the center infotainment display is not some vast flat-screen TV but a reasonably sized 8 inches for all models, positioned forward to keep everything in easy reach. SE modes and above feature touch controls for the sophisticated Climatronic® HVAC system. Also new is the leather interior on the SEL trim level, which has a new choice of dark blue available with some exterior colors.
Unseen changes include revisions to the Taos’ 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine. The updated engine includes new piston rings and fuel injectors, a modified turbo housing, a larger intercooler, and a new gasoline particulate filter. This increases power from 158 horsepower for the old model to 174. Accompanying the new engine is a new eight-speed automatic transmission for all models.
Another important update is that the IQ.DRIVE system is now standard across the model line. This suite of driver safety and driver assist technologies includes:
- Travel Assist (semi-automated driving assistance)
- Front Assist (Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Monitoring)
- Active Blind Spot Monitor
- Rear Traffic Alert
- Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go
- Lane Assist (Lane Keeping System)
- Emergency Assist (semi-automated vehicle assistance in a medical emergency).
Front and rear Park Distance Control is now available on the SEL model to guide parking in tight spaces.
The new 2025 Taos should be in the Bud Brown Volkswagen inventory before the end of 2024, with pricing announced closer to that date. You are invited to contact one of our Bud Brown Volkswagen sales professionals and have them contact you when the first 2025 Taos models arrive.
