Performance

A responsive 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 powers the 2026 Jetta, producing 158 horsepower and 184 pounds-feet of torque. Most models feature a smooth 6-speed automatic transmission, which enables an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 29 mpg in the city, 40 mpg on the highway, and 33 mpg combined.

Exterior

The 2026 Jetta offers a clean, low-profile front-end styling. The front also features LED headlights and an LED light bar that extends the LED daytime running lights across the lower edge of the grille on Sport and SEL models. A standard light bar connecting the taillights adds a touch of elegance to the rear. Each trim level has its own unique wheel design, ranging in size from 16 to 18 inches.

The body retains its sharp European character lines, which promise to age well over the years, as past Jetta models have.

Interior

The dashboard of the Jetta was completely redesigned for 2025 and remains fresh for the 2026 model year. A standard 8-inch touchscreen provides the focal point, while the passenger-side vent seamlessly integrates with the 3-bar dash panel design. Climatronic® Touch automatic climate control is standard across the model line, adding to the sleek, modern appearance of the center stack. The Jetta continues to provide generous room for its rear passengers. Its 37 inches of rear legroom is just an inch shy of that provided in the Atlas SUV.

Technology

The advanced Volkswagen Digital Cockpit system is standard across the model line. It features a fully digital instrument cluster. The standard system measures eight inches, expanding to 10.25 inches on SEL models, which can accommodate a full navigation display. The 8-inch center display is standard on all models. Customizable widgets show a variety of vehicle information.

Available by subscription (a three-month trial subscription is included), SiriusXM with 360L delivers more SiriusXM channels, an expansive library of on-demand content, and personalized “For You” recommendations to help listeners discover more of what they love. An enhanced sports play-by-play offering makes it easier to find the listener’s favorite team when it is game time, and individual listener profiles allow multiple drivers and passengers to customize their own favorite channels. 

Navigation-equipped models feature ParkopediaTM, which will show possible parking locations in the immediate area.

Safety and Performance Features

IQ.DRIVE is standard on all Jetta models. The system utilizes front and rear radar, a front camera, and several ultrasound sensors to collect data from the surrounding area, enabling the following features:
