Performance and Range

The 2026 ID.4 is powered by a potent electric motor, delivering instant torque and a responsive driving experience. Single-motor, rear-wheel-drive models produce 282 horsepower, while dual-motor, all-wheel-drive models deliver up to 335 horsepower.

With an estimated range of up to 291 miles on a single charge, the 2026 ID.4 is designed to meet the demands of daily commuting and long-distance travel. Pro models use an 82-kilowatt-hour battery, while standard models use a 62-kilowatt-hour battery. New for 2026, all models come standard with the North American Charging System (NACS) charge port, which is compatible with the Tesla Supercharger network of over 25,000 DC fast chargers. In addition, the 2-in-1 Mobile EV Charging Cable, previously available as an accessory, is now standard on all ID.4 models.

The 2026 ID.4 models feature a 175-kW DC fast-charging rate, allowing all ID.4 trims to charge from 10% to 80% state of charge in approximately 30 minutes.

Exterior

The 2026 ID.4 boasts a sleek, aerodynamic exterior with clean lines, a distinctive front clip, and LED lighting signatures that set it apart from traditional SUVs. It offers a contemporary aesthetic that appeals to eco-conscious drivers and is available in a range of modern colors.

The four-door SUV is a 5-seater with two rows of seats. A large liftgate opens wide and tall, making cargo loading and unloading easy.

Interior

Inside, the 2026 ID.4 features a spacious, modern interior with premium materials and thoughtful design details throughout. It offers versatile seating configurations and a range of innovative storage solutions to meet the needs of modern lifestyles.

Unlike most Volkswagen models, you simply sit in the driver’s seat to start the 2026 ID.4. It works when you have the key fob with you. Shifting the transmission is also different. There is a knob at the right end of the instrument cluster pod. A simple twist will put you in Drive or Reverse. To put the ID.4 in Park, simply press the button located at the end of the knob. The ID.4 is truly the most intuitive Volkswagen ever built.

The instrument cluster screen provides all the critical information you need. It clearly displays the state of charge, range, speed, and warning lamps directly in front of the driver.

The Volkswagen electric SUV also offers ample cargo space. Simply fold down the rear seats to enjoy up to 64.2 cubic feet of generous space, all wrapped in high design.

Technology

 The 2026 ID.4 is equipped with a comprehensive suite of features, including a 12.9-inch Discover Pro Max infotainment display. The infotainment system also supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. The available Augmented Reality Head-Up Display provides drivers with essential information in an intuitive and unobtrusive manner.
