What’s New for 2017? Volkswagen Jetta

How popular is the Volkswagen Jetta? Drive around the Kansas City area and up to the universities to see them all around! Yet, being popular is one thing. It is all about continual improvement – and the 2017 Jetta is no exception.

What’s new on the 2017 Jetta?

There are now four Jettas to choose from: S, SE, SEL and GLI. Each of these models received some upgrades to their standard equipment list, as well as a simplified speciation across the board. The S and SE have the new 1.4 liter TSI turbocharged engine with 150 horsepower, while the SEL ha sthe 1.8 liter TSI turbocharged engine with 170 horsepower. The GLI model simply has the 2.0 liter TSI turbocharged engine with 210 horsepower.

All models now get a rearview camera and LED daytime running lights. The SE adds Car-Net App-Connect – new for 2017. This system enables connectivity through Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirror Link through the touchscreen system.  SE models now have a sunroof, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter knob, Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert, 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, KESSY Keyless access and push-button start, and V-Tex leatherette seats with rear pass-through functionality. The luxurious SEL sees the addition of Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking, and Adaptive Cruise Control.

For 2017, the GLI will only come in one model with a simplified specification, but also with more standard equipment than before. Newly standard equipment includes

a navigation system, power driver’s seat, LED taillights, Park Distance Control, the Fender Premium Audio System, and Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert.

The 2017 Jetta is priced from $17,895 for the S model.
