  1. Release the emergency key on your newer Volkswagen key fob.
  2. On your key fob, locate a small seam where you can begin separating the key fob cover with your fingers.
  3. Once you have a large enough space, carefully use your pry tool or screwdriver to slowly separate the two parts.
  4. Locate the dead battery and replace it with the new one. Take note of the positive and negative terminals.
  5. Snap together the key fob tightly and you should be good to go!
