What You Are Going To Love About The 2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz
When you drive a buzzworthy vehicle like the 2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz, you will definitely get a lot of looks.
As we took one of our 2025 ID Buzz Pro S Plus 4Motion electric vehicles on the road, we received many looks, smiles, and thumbs-ups from onlookers and other motorists. People approached us asking about it. Every person we ran into was more than just curious—they loved it!
What’s not to love about the 2025 ID.Buzz?
The first thing people notice is the exterior design. Volkswagen created a look that took the best elements of its past from the old Type 2 Microbus and mixed them with modern design and technology.
Looking at it head-on, the ID.Buzz puts on a huge smile. The lower grille is a smile all Volkswagen owners will love. The LED lighting, enlarged windshield, and A-pillar glass also mix the past and present. People noticed the front end immediately and knew they were in for a treat.
To be a modern electric people carrier, you have to be in step with the times. That is why we appreciated the dual sliding doors and large liftgate that opens to the bumper. It made for easy loading and unloading of people and their things.
Once inside, you saw people’s eyes pop. The “Dune” interior theme in our ID.Buzz is full of light-colored V-Tex leatherette upholstery, orange accents, and woven floor mats. The cabin was inviting to those who soon discovered how much room was inside. Our vehicle had separate second-row captain’s chairs. You can get a three-seat bench as standard on rear-drive models and as an option on 4Motion models.
They also discovered how easy it was to get into the third row. Just press the button on top of the second-row seatbacks, and they slide far forward to get in the back. It is also easy to exit the ID.Buzz by doing the reverse.
Cargo management was also a huge hit for us. Behind the third row is a cargo shelf with two collapsible bins beneath it. You can carry the charger bag in one and your groceries in the other. If you need more space, just remove the shelf and the bins for up to 16.6 cubic feet of space behind the third row. If you do not use the third row of seats, they can be rolled out of the ID.Buzz to make even more room.
Volkswagen engineered the ID.Buzz to accommodate two motors—one up front and one in the rear. Microbus enthusiasts will love the fact that the primary drive unit is located at the rear axle—just like old times. Our 4Motion model was equipped with a second drive unit for additional traction when the weather is not that great.
With two motors on board, we enjoyed how much performance you get. It does the job traversing our freeways and streets without complaint and hesitation. That instant torque also helps when you’re taking your place in rush hour traffic.
Handling was also a treat to discover. The 91-kilowatt-hour battery pack sits between the two axles underneath the cabin. This helps keep the ID.Buzz planted with its lower center of gravity. Overall, we found that the ID.Buzz is a confident people mover that loves to bring smiling faces along for the ride.
We should talk about charging up the ID.Buzz. You can take it to one of several DC Fast Charging stations across the Kansas City area. When you do, it will take you just 26 minutes to go from 10 to 80% state of charge on a 200-kilowatt charger. If you want to use your Electrify America Pass+ membership with Plug&Charge that comes with your new ID.Buzz, there are a number of DC Fast Chargers at Country Club Plaza in Kansas City. Just drive, plug in, sit down for a nice meal, and shop.
