Volkswagen Cuts 2018 Tiguan Prices Significantly

January 5th, 2018 by

The Volkswagen Tiguan is a highly popular mid-sized SUV that usually sells pretty good, which is why it’s surprising that Volkswagen recently decided to cut the price down by so much. If you’re in the market for a new SUV, and you’ve had your eye on the Tiguan, now is the time to strike, because Volkswagen is slashing prices across the board. The automaker sent a memo out to dealerships letting them know to drop prices and by how much, so keep your eyes on Tiguan listings around your area.

Looking at the Price Cuts

Three different trim levels of the Tiguan received a major price reduction from Volkswagen. Interested buyers can now save some cash on the Tiguan S, the Tiguan SEL and the SE model. The Tiguan S price has been slashed by $600, the price of the Tiguan SEL has been reduced by about $1,460 and the SE gets a major reduction of $2,180 off the recommended value. That means that all the Tiguan SUVs should be more affordable in the near future making them even more competitive against rivals like the Honda CR-V or the Toyota RAV4.

Less than the 2017 Tiguan

For buyers that considered the 2017 Tiguan but decided to wait, the 2018 Tiguan models are an even better deal thanks in part because of the price reductions. The Tiguan S is about $400 cheaper than it was in 2017, the SEL is a whopping $3,400 cheaper than it was in 2017 and the SE is thousands less costly than both the Sport and Wolfsburg models of the Tiguan.

On the Path to Success

It’s too early to predict how Tiguan sales are going to go for 2018, but if 2017 is any sort of indication they have a lot of hope to be successful. Volkswagen sales increased by 5.2 percent throughout the U.S. in 2017, and much of that increased success was thanks to the Tiguan and the Atlas. Buyers are interested in SUVs and the Tiguan is one of the most popular options for Volkswagen customers at the moment.

If you’ve been waiting for a time to purchase a Tiguan, right now you could spend a little bit less, or you can throw in that options package you’ve been looking at without changing your price too much. Either way, it’s a good time to be a fan of the Tiguan SUV from Volkswagen.
