Reintroducing the Volkswagen ID.4
You’ve waited to get a new one. Now, the wait is over. The Volkswagen ID.4 is back!
In the coming weeks, the Chattanooga, Tennessee plant will start producing the ID.4 again, which means that a fresh batch of this award-winning electric SUV will be coming soon!
For 2024, the ID.4 received significant upgrades to the 82-kilowatt-hour battery models, including a revised infotainment system and software, a new rear electric motor that increases power to 282 hp on rear-wheel- and 335 hp on all-wheel-drive models, and an improved range of an EPA-estimated 291 miles for the ID.4 Pro RWD model.
The incoming 2025 model will be available in seven trims: three Entry trims, including Standard, Pro, AWD Pro, and three S trims, including S, Pro S, AWD Pro S, and the Pro S Plus. All models with the 62-kilowatt-hour battery will add the standard 12.9-inch display with backlit sliders. S models with 62-kilowatt-hour battery will add ventilated front-row seats. S and S Plus models feature an available Black Package, including black mirror caps, door handles, badging, and 20-inch black aluminum alloy wheels. S Plus models also add an auto-dimming driver’s side door mirror.
At the ID.4’s core is the MEB architecture. It enables the ID.4 to offer a choice of battery sizes and drivelines underneath a spacious and practical SUV. You can choose between a rear-mounted single motor that delivers 201 horsepower and 229 pound-feet of torque while drawing energy from the 62-kilowatt-hour battery pack. An 82-kilowatt-hour battery is available in the higher trim levels of rear-wheel drive models, putting down 282 horsepower and 402 pound-feet of torque. Using the larger battery, this driveline can yield up to an Environmental Protection Agency-rated range of 291 miles.
For year-round traction, there is a two-motor drive system that yields up to 335 horsepower and a total of 501 pound-feet of torque. The 82-kilowatt-hour battery comes standard with the all-wheel drive two-motor drive system, yielding an EPA-rated range of 263 miles.
It is worth stating that the ID.4 has already earned its share of accolades since its arrival into showrooms. It won the World Car of the Year in 2021. Plus, these following awards:
