The most important award the ID. Buzz received was the coveted 2025 North American Utility of The Year. It is one of three awards that the jury of journalists presents every year, making it the most prestigious automotive award in this country.  

The 2025 North American Car, Truck, and Utility Vehicle of the Year Awards – also known as NACTOY – recognizes vehicles that set benchmarks in innovation, design, safety, handling, driver satisfaction, user experience, and value. The ID. Buzz was evaluated by a jury of 50 distinguished automotive journalists from across the U.S.A. and Canada, standing out among three finalists in the Utility Vehicle category. 

Celebrating its zero-emissions credentials, the ID. Buzz was also named the Best Car To Buy 2025 by Green Car Reports. The Green Car Reports website evaluates vehicles based on its assessment of a vehicle’s environmental impact, efficiency, and market influence. In Green Car Reports’ view, the 2025 ID. Buzz excelled in all three categories, highlighting the Volkswagen brand’s commitment to combining sustainability with exceptional design and functionality. 

The 2025 ID. Buzz is also appealing to a wide variety of consumers. This is why Puros Autos, a leading automobile source for the Hispanic/Latino population in the U.S.A., named it their Electric Vehicle of the Year in the Latin Flavor: Cars of the Year 2025 awards. According to Puros Autos, the 2025 ID. Buzz stood out amongst competitors in the EV category and was named Electric Vehicle of the Year due to its exceptional blend of nostalgic design, cutting-edge technology, and EPA-estimated range. The Latin Flavor Car of the Year awards highlight Hispanics’ growing purchasing power and preference for certain car models and brands. They honor brands that have recognized this influence and adapted their marketing and product development strategies to better serve this demographic. 

In addition, the 2025 ID. Buzz was also named one of the 10Best Trucks by Car and Driver.
