The Atlas Cross Sport SE and SE w/ Technology trim levels come standard with Front-wheel drive and can be optioned with VW’s 4Motion® All-wheel drive. The SEL, SEL R-Line Black, and SEL Premium R-Line come standard with 4Motion® All-wheel drive.

What engines does the Atlas Cross Sport have?

The 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport features the new Evo4 2.0-liter Turbocharged 4-cylinder that produces 269 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. This is an increase of 34 horsepower and 15 lb-ft of torque compared to the previous model year’s 2.0-liter Turbo 4. The new 2.0-liter motor also replaces the outgoing 3.6-liter VR6 with similar horsepower and torque ratings, albeit with a better range of torque response, where peak torque is from 1600-4500 rpm.

Does the VW Atlas Cross Sport Have Apple CarPlay & Android Auto?

All Atlas Cross Sports come standard with a 12-inch floating touchscreen display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The newly designed interior also features wireless charging, and up to 6 USB-C ports with up to 45 watts of fast charging for all but the rearview mirror USB-C port. 

How much can the Atlas Cross Sport tow?

The base SE models can tow up to 2,000 lbs when properly equipped, and the SE w/ Technology and above come standard with a trailer hitch and the ability to tow up to 5,000 lbs.

This means no matter which trim you choose, you will at least be able to tow a jet ski, motorcycles, ATVs, small campers, and trailers, as well as certain size boats, and a single horse trailer and horse with higher trim models. 

How Safe is the Atlas Cross Sport?

The 2023 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport is very safe, and there are no official crash test ratings for the all-new 2024 Cross Sport. We imagine that it will be very similar. For the 2023 model year, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s crash tests showed the Cross Sport has top marks in Small Overlap Front: Driver, Small Overlap Front: Passenger, Moderate Overlap Front, Side, Head Restraints, and Seats. The Volkswagen’s front crash prevention system also received top marks. 

All 2024 Atlas Cross Sports come standard with Volkswagen’s IQ.DRIVE system. By utilizing front and rear radar, multiple ultrasound sensors to monitor and collect information surrounding the car, and a front camera, the system enables Travel Assist (semi-automated driving assistance), Front Assist (Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Monitoring), Active Side Assist (Blind Spot Monitor), Rear Traffic Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Stop and Go, Lane Assist (Lane Keeping System), and Emergency Assist (semi-automated vehicle assistance in a medical emergency).

How much cargo space does the Cross Sport have?

With the rear seats in place, the Atlas Cross Sport features 40.3 cu.ft. of space in the rear hatch, and with the seats folded, there is 77.6 cu.ft. 

What is the fuel economy of the 2024 Cross Sport?

With the standard Front-wheel drive equipped VW Atlas Cross Sport, the EPA estimates you will be able to get up to 20 mpg city and 27 mpg highway, while a 4Motion® All-wheel drive optioned model will get 19 city and 26 highway, respectively.
