The Performance Superior Compared To The Kia K4: The Volkswagen Jetta Cruising On Country Roads

What is the best sedan in the compact vehicle class? For us, the argument stops with one of our best-selling vehicles—the 2025 Volkswagen Jetta. With a comfortable space, exceptional practicality, great driving manners, and superb fuel economy, the 2025 Jetta went a few steps further with a new look, improved technology, and a great lineup of value-oriented trim levels—all the way up to the Jetta GLI Autobahn.

However, some people would like to make comparisons. Kelley Blue Book (KBB) recently compared the 2025 Jetta with the 2025 Kia K4. Here is what the editors learned.

There were three areas in which the 2025 Jetta stood out. One was the IQ.DRIVE driver assistance suite of features developed to keep you and your 2025 Jetta safe and secure. Features included with IQ.DRIVE include Travel Assist, Emergency Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and more. Even better, it is standard on all Jetta trim levels.

KBB found that the 2025 Jetta offers “easy to use” haptic touch controls on the floating 8.0-inch infotainment touch screen. Controls are within your reach and offer large, engaging icons. The same goes for the climate control system located below the floating screen and center vents, and the steering wheel controls.

Part of the floating infotainment touchscreen is a host of connectivity options through App-Connect. There is smartphone integration through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a Wi-Fi Hotspot. You also get wireless charging for your devices.

When it comes to performance, the 2025 Jetta GLI will always win. Its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine is rated for 228 horsepower. It propels the GLI through either a six-speed manual transmission or the seven-speed DSG gearbox. This is truly the enthusiast’s choice when it comes to a quick and speedy compact sport sedan.

On all other Jetta models, the 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is no slouch. It offers 158 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque channeled through an eight-speed automatic transmission. While fun to run, it also returns great fuel economy. The Environmental Protection Agency rated the 2025 Jetta to return up to 29 mpg in the city and 39 mpg on the highway.

KBB concluded that “the Jetta is a stalwart in this class. If you like classic styling and a little bit of tradition—or a manual transmission—the Jetta is your choice.”
