2024 Volkswagen Atlas Technical Specs & Model Lineup
The Volkswagen Atlas is a three-row crossover that has been on the market for nearly seven years now, with the 2024 VW Atlas being its seventh iteration since inception. Several weeks ago Volkswagen announced pricing information and more details regarding the refreshed 2024 Volkswagen Atlas, so today we thought we’d give you the rundown on this year’s lineup of trim levels for the model, as well as a peek at some of its most important technical specs.
Performance & More Specifications
One of the most exciting updates that Volkswagen made when refreshing the Atlas for the 2024 model year was the change it made to its powertrain options. Instead of offering either a four-cylinder or V6 engine, this year every Atlas – and Atlas Cross Sport, for that matter – will be powered by a brand-new 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine capable of generating 269 horsepower alongside 273 pound-feet of torque.
When it comes to space, one of the most important aspects of any utility vehicle like the Atlas, you’ll have plenty of space to fill with your cargo. Behind the rear seats alone rests 20.6 cubic feet of space to fill, while you can drop the third row to open up 55.5 cu. ft. and even the second row to open a total of 96.8 cu. ft. As for how much space you and your up to seven passengers can stretch out in, that’s 154 cu. Ft.
Available Trim Levels
The entry-level VW Atlas is the SE trim level, which is available in either front-wheel drive or 4Motion all-wheel drive. You can opt for a Technology package in the SE trim level, with either drivetrain, to get several added features and functionality. Then comes one of the exciting new additions for the 2024 model year, which is the new Peak Edition. These trim levels, of which there are two, include several unique design cues making your Atlas even more rugged than it already is. So, the third trim level available is the Peak Edition SE w/ Technology. It includes everything in the SE w/ Technology model plus the rugged Peak Edition design cues, but it’s only available with 4Motion all-wheel drive.
Moving on brings us to the SEL trim level, which is also only available with 4Motion all-wheel drive – as are all the rest of the trim levels. SEL adds several premium features and technologies, and is then succeeded by the Peak Edition SEL, which is the second and final Peak Edition model this year. Finally, you can opt for the top-of-the-line trim level, which is the SEL-Premium R-Line trim.
