2024 ID.4 Receives Consumer Requested Updates

The 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 is getting significant upgrades and new updates to the models with 82 kWh battery packs, which include a performance drive unit that yields more performance with an expected increase in the EPA-estimated range. Also, a newly improved infotainment display, a new premium audio system, and other features. 

Trim Levels

Three trim levels are available for the 2024 ID.4, including Standard/Pro, S, and S Plus. Buyers can choose between a 62 or 82-kWh battery with either rear or all-wheel drive. 

Horsepower Upgrades

Thanks to a new performance drive unit, the 2024 ID.4 83 kWh models with rear-wheel drive go from 201 to 282 horsepower, and all-wheel drive models will now have 330 horsepower versus the previous model having 295. 

New Infotainment Display

ID.4 models with a 62 kWh battery pack have a standard 12-inch infotainment display, while 82 kWh models are getting an upgraded 12.9-inch display with backlit sliders, along with a better and more intuitive climate control interface and new infotainment menu. The shifter for the ID.4 has a new position, and the steering wheel has a new layout. 

Upgraded Sound System

Ventilated front seats are now standard on the 2024 ID.4 S with an 82 kWh battery, and S Plus models get a new Harmon/Kardon premium sound system with a total of nine speakers, a subwoofer, and a 16-channel amplifier. 

Bigger Wheels

Larger 20-inch wheels are now standard on ID.4 all-wheel-drive models, and S Plus cars get 21-inch machined alloy wheels. 

Range

Volkswagen has said that updated EPA-estimated ranges will be available when the updated ID.4 arrives at dealerships. Still, they expect an increase from the 275-mile range for the rear-wheel drive and 255 miles on the all-wheel drive 82 kWh battery models. 

Tax Credit & Release Date

The Volkswagen ID.4 is assembled in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and qualifies for the $7,500 federal tax credit. You can expect to see updated 2024 models at Bud Brown VW in early 2024.
