The New Volkswagen Passat
What do you love about the Volkswagen Passat?
It is big, spacious, comfortable, roomy, economical and truly a nice car to drive. Volkswagen made sure to engineer the Passat to incorporate the best of German engineering in a package that is made particularly for American families. And NHTSA gave it an overall 5-star ranking for safety, a Volswagen benchmark.
The Volkswagen Passat is one of the most advanced and stylish mid-sized sedans available in America. It also has a cabin that fits five adults inside – unlike most of its competitors. Some of our happy customers have even finalized their deal INSIDE a Passat!
The first thing to look at the Passat is the handsome front and rear clips, keeping in line with new Volkswagen design tenets. They are cleaner, more contemporary with new lighting systems to improve night vision all around. This is by the use of LED lighting that not only improves outward vision, but uses less energy to do its work.
The instrument panel offers better materials all around. That includes the newest steering wheel and on-wheel switches seen on other Volkswagen models. An improved instrument binnacle with an information center for better readouts on the fly. The MIB II family of infotainment systems will reside in the center stack, providing better connectivity and entertainment options across the board. What has not changed is the large interior space the Passat is well known for. Five adults will continue to find excellent comfort in a more premium feeling cabin.
Safety is always on the forefront for the Volkswagen Passat. Standard on all Passat models is Automatic Post-Collision Braking System, a feature designed to ensure braking before an incident occurs. Other features available will be Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC); Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking (Front Assist); Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert; Lane Departure Warning (Lane Assist), and Parking Steering Assistant (Park Assist). All of these features stack up to one important fact: It is a Top Safety Pick + award winner, thanks to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
All Passats now come with a 174-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a six-speed automatic transmission. This engine will turn up to 36 MPG on the highway.
Plus, the Passat will be easy to own. Prices will start from $25,295 for a Wolfsburg Edition model with the automatic transmission. You can also get a SE R-Line model.
