The Volkswagen Golf and Golf R

Golf R

The Award-Winning Hatchback Delivers More!

”To preface, a selection of lines from editors’ notebooks: ‘Feels so incredibly well-built.’ ‘A remarkable degree of refinement for a mainstream, C-segment car.’ ‘Light feeling chassis with tons of grip.’ ‘Rides and feels like a segment above.’” – Rory Jurnecka, Motor Trend

This the award-winning Golf family – its seventh generation of the beloved hatchback from Volkswagen!

The Golf is available in a four door hatchbcack. It offers seating for five and at least 13.7 cubic feet of cargo space – up to 52.7 cubic feet total with the rear seats folded down for more space to carry anything you have in mind. Plus, the Golf’s new infotainment systems feature improved touch screens for audio and navigation options. Combine that with the optional Fender audio system and everyone will be rocking out on the road in style.

The Golf offers a new 1.4-Liter TSI turbocharged engine, good for 147 horsepower. There is a choice of a manual transmission or a new eight-speed automatic for Golf S and SE models. This award-winning model is a staff favorite here at Bud Brown Volkswagen.

If that is not enough, the new Golf R raises the performance bar. The R’s 2.0-Liter turbocharged engine puts out a whopping 288 horsepower, as it runs through the DSG gearbox or a six-speed manual transmission and 4Motion all-wheel drive system. If a GTI does not satisfy the real need for performamce, the Golf R will. This year, you can choose from a 40-color palette to individualize your Golf R to the color you want.

The Golf comes with Car-Net. This is the connected car services suite from Volkswagen that assist when the Golf is involved in an accident, is stolen or for any other emergencies and services as needed anytime, every day. In addition, there is the MIB II family of infotainment systems, driven by Car-Net.

The new Golf is also safe to own. An advanced safety cage locks and a crash-optimized front end protects its occupants from any collision the Golf might encounter. There are seven active stability-enhancing systems to keep the Golf on the road. Every Golf gets anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-pressure distribution, adaptive airbags all around and an Intelligent Crash Response System. Additional features include Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking (Front Assist), Lane Departure Warning (Lane Assist), Blind Spot Monitor w/ Rear Traffic Alert, Park Distance Control (Park Pilot), and Parking Steering Assistant (Park Assist).

Golf hatchbacks are available in S and the new SE trim level, along with the high-performance R. Pricing for the Golf S with a manual transmission starts at $21,845. The Golf R starts at $40,395 with the manual transmission.
