Diesel Old Wives’ Tale #4: Stinky

Another day, another ride with our favorite three sisters. But, something is not right inside of the Volkswagen Passat TDI Clean Diesel. Perhaps there is an odor inside somewhere. One of the sisters thinks it’s the diesel engine.

Diesels stink? Not these days!

Actually, a diesel no longer smells like a dog. Nor does it drive like one. There is a scientific test as conducted in this commercial that an unbathed dog smells much worse than a TDI Clean Diesel equipped Volkswagen. For the record, a diesel engine has never smelled like “marinated camel crap” in the many years it has been in production by Volkswagen.

One of the most important parts of the TDI Clean Diesel engine is the exhaust system. By using AdBlue, also known Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), not only will it emit lower tailpipe emissions, it also cleans up the byproducts of the exhaust to eliminate odors, as well.

To solve their original problem, they just need to give Tuna a bath. Once the dog is clean, it could also enjoy the clean environment of a Volkswagen TDI Clean Diesel…as will these wonderful mature siblings.
